The classes hone holistic body movement, utilizing various floor techniques, weight transfer to different body parts, and body control. The purpose is to focus on the correct technical execution of movements safely, as well as the organicity and fluidity of movement through contemporary dance. The goal is to learn to combine the above-mentioned elements in different dance styles and to smoothly combine acrobatics with movement sequences and improvisation.
The classes encourage exploring the body’s possibilities and encourage challenging yourself safely. The exercises also emphasize the use of space, understanding the rhythm and dynamics of music, and combining movements into sequences.
The classes will introduce you to many basic and advanced acrobatic movements, such as somersaults and cartwheels, headstands and handstands, as well as pair and group acrobatics. The classes will review the body’s movement paths using simple movements that prepare the body for more difficult movements.
During the classes you can safely learn new things through self-transcendence and success.
Equipment: Flexible, skin-tight clothing and bare feet.
